Winter Testing - INDYCAR - 2021

I have a love hate relationship with photographing off season testing. Sometimes a car might leave the pits and run for 30mins straight or perhaps only run five laps in an hour for the entire day. It’s also hard to know when who is going to do what, you can be the guy who is constantly bothering the crew, who wants to be that guy? Even at that, sometimes minds are changed on the fly.

On the positive side, there are little distractions, less folks looking to small talk on a test day. Fewer security guards and the needy desk jockey types than traditional race weekends. Just me, the camera and a full day of whatever I want to do. Tests are pretty great when they go well.

I enjoy myself most when I’m some where out of my element or I shouldn’t be. For instance, a random race track in the off season or abandoned road side attraction. In this gallery I wanted to share both!

Check out some of my favorite images from the last couple weeks of INDYCAR testing in Sebring, Florida. Leave a comment and let me know what you think!
