About Chris Owens
Growing up in rural Indiana, photography has always been one of my interests. Sports cards and disposable cameras were my gateway. Racecars, friends and events were the subjects. Since 2012, it has been a true honor to hold the position of track photographer at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (Home of the Indianapolis 500).
Photography is my calling, my profession, and the one thing that will unquestionably drive me insane crazy one day. I don’t photograph subjects, I photograph the way they make me feel. It’s a bit of a strange concept, but it’s honest – and it’s the best way to describe my approach to the craft.
I battle with every photograph I make, whether a racecar on track, musician on stage or a model posing. I assume perfection is possible and I want to achieve that in every picture. If that’s all you ever know about me, it’s enough to say you know me very well.
